The Classic

Ray's kid asked him once why he always made the same sandwich. Ray didn't answer. He just slid the plate across the counter. Cheddar, always seasoned tomato, crisp bacon, real butter, sourdough. Kid hasn't asked since.

The Triple Threat

Louise showed up to the block party with three cheeses and a crust so golden people thought she bought it somewhere. She didn't. Cheddar, jack, and mozz pressed hard enough to get that crispy golden shell on the outside. Louise doesn't play.

The One That Got Me

Ray swore up and down he wasn't eating anything with brie on it. Then somebody put honey, apple slices, and walnuts on sourdough next to it and pressed the whole thing. Ray had two. Ray doesn't talk about it. Ray's wife does.

The Hot One

Pete brought this to Ray's Super Bowl party in '97. Pepper jack, jalapeño, mozzarella, and a pepper chutney that made the whole room go quiet. Nobody touched it. Ray ate four. Pete still brings it up. Ray still doesn't care.
